Hello! I’m Rachel Petersen and have been photographing Kansas City families since 2008.

I have a Masters Degree in Fine Art photography from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Photography is my passion and I love capturing fun, fresh photos of people at all stages of life. My style is a mix of standard portraits and candids. I can’t wait to meet you!

What I hope every client will tell you is that my passion is evident in the way I photograph you and your loved ones.

My goal is to help my clients feel comfortable, because being on that end of the camera is not easy! I capture a mix of standard portraits and also love snapping candids in between. My background before art school was photojournalism and that spirit still lives in my photographs!
